Festival of Trees

The festival began as an annual holiday event organized by the Junior League of South Brevard. In recent years, the event has continued under the Junior League of the Space Coast, reflecting the organization’s name change. This longstanding tradition features seasonal displays that include decorated trees, wreaths, and holiday-themed activities.

Designers and local contributors create the trees and wreaths, which are made available for purchase through a silent auction. The event also includes vendor booths, raffles, and craft stations. Past programs have offered additional features such as photos with Santa, letter-writing stations for children, and themed cooking sessions. One example is “Cooking with Mrs. Claus,” which has introduced basic food preparation and nutrition in a festive setting.

In some years, the Festival has started with a preview gathering held the evening before the main event. These preview nights offer early access to displays and auction items. Activities may include games, music, and seasonal refreshments.

In addition to the Festival of Trees, the League has hosted related fundraising efforts such as a holiday poinsettia sale. Participants have had the option to purchase plants for personal use or to donate them to community programs. Revenue from these events has historically supported projects that focus on child wellness, nutrition, and physical activity.

The Festival of Trees has remained active for over four decades and continues to take place in Brevard County. Each year, it brings together seasonal celebration and civic engagement, reflecting the organization’s long history of community involvement.
