Tuesday marked our October GMM for the 2016-2017 League year. To add a little fun to the mix, League members dressed up in black, orange, or a costume. Our Eager Leaguers of September were Summer Rose and Catherine Woodward. The Eager Leaguer is awarded to a member of the League that exemplifies the qualities of the League. The night featured updates on Festival of Trees and strategic planning. Our LEAD training this month focused on what the League stands for to members. We broke out into 5 groups and brainstormed words that personify the values of the League. Many words were thrown into the hat. The top words for Group 3 were: community, fun, inspirational, giving, and education. A few of the top words for the League overall were: community, leadership, communication, values, and fun. Members took the key words and came up with value statements to further define League values. The creativity and sense of pride in the League was beaming after the sharing of value statements. We ended the meeting with friendly reminders for events in the upcoming month and a group picture.
